Determination of mercury by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry.
A flameless atomic-absorption system has been developed for the determination of low concentrations of mercury in gaseous, solid and liquid samples of organic and inorganic materials.
متن کاملDetermination of mercury in fish by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry using a multicommuted flow injection analysis system.
A flow system was developed for the determination of total mercury concentration in fish samples by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry (CVAAS), based on the multicommuted flow injection analysis (MCFIA) approach. The system uses independently controlled solenoid valves for the introduction of reagents and samples. When not injected, solutions were recirculating to the reservoir bott...
متن کاملDetermination of total mercury in biological tissues by flow injection cold vapour generation atomic absorption spectrometry following tetramethylammonium hydroxide digestion.
A simple, rapid and reliable method was developed for the determination of total mercury in biological samples. Samples were solubilized using tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH). The organically bound mercury was cleaved and converted to inorganic mercury by on-line addition of KMnO4. The decomposed mercury together with inorganic mercury originally present in samples was determined by flow i...

Direct determination of mercury in blood by use of sodium borohydride reduction and atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
A method is presented for the rapid determination of total mercury in blood. The reagent used is alkaline sodium borohydride, and no digestion of the sample is needed. The detection limit and sensitivity are 1.15 and 1.59 ng of Hg, respectively. The method gives reproducible results (the CV ranged from 5.3 to 6.7% for low and high mercury blood samples, respectively), comparable to those obtain...
